  • Helping small businesses with strategic planning and business organization planning, with successfully raising millions of dollars in private source funding and with establishment of institutional lines of credit..
  • Serving as member of the Virginia Energy Sense Education Advisory Committee, providing support to the Virginia State Corporation Commission in the statewide consumer education program covering all classes of electricity users on smart grid deployment, energy efficiency, demand response and energy management.

  •  Co-founder and Executive Vice President of AMSEC

Managed all finance, strategic planning, human relations, corporate administration, security, data processing, contract administration and facilities management functions. Company provided engineering and technical support services to government agencies, nuclear powered electricity generation companies and major railroads. During eight year tenure as Executive Vice President, company grew to 800 employees and $30 million annual volume. AMSEC appeared in the Inc. magazine top 500 fastest growing privately owned businesses in the United States. AMSEC was the subject of a sixteen page Time Magazine supplement highlighting the company as a small business success story.

  • Co-founder and president, New Era Energy, Inc

Company provides consulting in electricity demand response, energy efficiency and energy management for residential and commercial clients.

  • Co-founder and Vice President of Energy Consultants, Inc.

Managed all financial and corporate administrative functions. Company provided energy management systems to residential and commercial clients in Virginia and North Carolina.

  • Supply Corps Officer, United States Navy .

    Served in inventory management and financial management positions in large scale organizations. Served as Business Manager of one of the U.S. Navy's largest weapons system acquisition programs, the TRIDENT Program.
  • Elected by Virginia business owners to serve as state delegate to the White House Conference on Small Business, co-chair of Regulation and Paperwork Committee. Results of this committee's effort led to the landmark Small Business Regulatory Enforcement And Fairness Act (SBREFA). This legislation has dramatically increased the influence of small business owners in the development and enforcement of regulatory rules.
  • Appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia to the Consumer Advisory Board, which serves as advisor to the Virginia Legislative Transition Task Force, which managed the planned deregulation of the electric utility industry.
  • Sales Manager in Ecoquest International, Inc. distribution network, helping many independent entrepreneurs establish their own successful businesses. Provided clean air and clean water solutions for residential and commercial clients.
